Delightful and memorable

Agios Nikolaos is the port where one goes to catch the ferry to the blue caves and The famed Zante’s shipwreck beach. We did nothing of the above. The Emerald villas are a true treat, and we only left our piece of paradise for the occasional swim at Mantrakia beach of for dinner in the nearby tavernas (see separate reviews). We stayed for three nights in a cave suite in the new complex up the hill. The villas were completed in June 2019, as such they were brand new, beautifully appointed and just delightful. Featuring a private infinity pool overlooking the sparkling Med below, the villa was at the same time beautiful and practical, including things such as an iron, a fully equipped kitchenette and a washing machine (should you need one). But what really set this place even further apart was the service. The staff, in particular Aggelos, looked after us incredibly well and with a sense of authenticity that is not quite easily found nowadays. If we could clone him customer service in the world would be much better! If you are coming to this area Emerald Villa is highly recommended. Here some practical tips/info: 1. The nearest taverna - which is lovely - is within walking distance (10-15 minutes, but it does include a rather steep walk uphill FYI) and the tourist port is 5 minutes drive away. 2. Unless you have your heart set on the caves or the shipwreck you can avoid the port proper completely (touristy)- check out the nearby Mantrakia beach and stunning taverna next to it. 3. You can get meals and provisions delivered to your room. The local supermarket is pricey and with limited choice, so if you can bring your booze and bubbles as you arrive it’s probably a better idea.

We just got back from our honeymoon at Emerald. It was seriously the best 4 nights of our trip! We are mad we didn’t stay a whole week. The cave/room was absolutely gorgeous. We spent so much time in there relaxing and truly enjoying paradise. The staff took us in like we were their family at home. They made sure every single thing was taken care of, they drove us to the town when we needed it, set up all our dinners and transports, drove us wherever we needed, truly spoiled us! Argos is the best!! He is SO good at his job and always hooked us up with everything we did! He even responded to my ridiculous questions on WhatsApp when he was off work. Linda is the lady in charge of cleaning and oh my gosh obsessed with her! They all work like such a team- she drove us to the beach and back when Argos was busy and the room was always spotless and set up so romantically for us (candles, towel hearts, etc) can’t say enough about this place don’t hesitate and book it right now. You feel like you’re in a dream. Do note though that it isn’t “near much” so you have to be ok with living the local life for your visit (which we loved)!!

We had high expectations which were all met! This is a wonderful place to spend quiet and relaxed holidays. The honeymoon cave suite is very comfy, you almost don't want to leave it. The view is wonderful and we loved this place. These suites are brand new and there is everything you need. You have absolute privacy! The private pool is very nice and if it is too hot, you can chill in the "cave jacuzzi" in the shade. At arrival, we were kindly welcomed by Violet and Anastasia, then Aggelos joined and explained us the Suite. He is a very kind person and makes you feel at home. The suite is stylish and clean. There is a cleaning service and you can also order food. But there are nice restaurants in the area, so it's easy to have a nice dinner. Don't miss the Old Windmill and Nobelos. You will need a car, so you can get easily around. We loved the Makris Gialos Beach in the early morning without crowds, the water is cristal clear. There is also a small but nice supermarket nearby (Marakis), but avoid the supermarket in in Agios Nikolaos (unfriendly and expensive).

Just returned from one week in a standard suite (cave suites and honeymoon suites were booked!)... and could not have been happier with the privacy, peace, quiet, and level of service we received. suites were SO clean, SO modern, SO comfortable, and SO romantic. the pool was crystal clear, SO clean.. and the views absolutely mesmerizing. The team provided the small barbecue pool-side that we had requested, which was great for the nights we didn't go out. Can't say enough good things, and this was about our 12th trip to these islands over the last 20years or so. And don't miss the restaurant up the hill, The Old Windmill - GREAT food and wonderful people!! We'll be back!! :-) Efcharisto!!!

Couldn’t be happier with our stay here. Elena made everything super simple over email with regards to payment. The cave suites were stunning, spotless and beautifully designed. Infinity pool to DIE for with a gorgeous bed over the water for sunbathing. Aggelos made us feel so welcome evening providing us with the provisions for a BBQ one night for something a little different. Suite has a full fridge, cooker, dishwasher and washing machine. The rainfall shower with a skylight was stunning. We can’t wait to come back. TIPS LOCALLY: •Hire a car. It’s impossible without one. •Shop for provisions in the south before you drive into the mountains. The local shops have minimal products and it’s extremely overpriced. •Don’t get trapped in tourist nonsense - get lost and find your own mini coves and beaches to explore! •Visit the local Peligoni private members club for their weekly/day rates, they can be very reasonable.

Stayed in a suit for 11th wedding anniversary and wife’s 40th birthday. Views from suit were incredible, best view I’ve ever had on a holiday ever. Some great places to eat within a couple of minutes from our location. The place was spotless and all furnishings were brand new looking, shower was fantastic and even had a great view over pool and the sea aswell. Could not fault this place on anything at all, place is perfect, would go exploring during day and eat out at night but just wanted to always get back and chill at our suit. Aggeos at reception was a total gentleman, nothing to much bother For him,always glad to help you or tell you things to do and see, total pleasure to chat with, Cheers Man for everything, seriously would love to go back,maybe take my girls next time and hire a Villa, could not recommend Emerald villas and suits enough,place is gorgeous, Thanks again for having us, until next time.

A little piece of perfection!

Booked here in June 2018 to stay in one of the suites in October 2018. After reading trip advisor and seeing the pictures expectations were high and we were excited. After a busy year travelling and buying a new house we were looking for a relaxing type of holiday where we could indulge in doing absolutely NOTHING! Having arrived yesterday I can tell you as everyone else says, the pictures don’t lie. It is quiet, romantic and has breath taking views. Nothing seems too much trouble at all. The staff are friendly, extremely professional and attentive and discreet. On arrival Violet introduced us to Aggelos who showed us around the suite and how everything worked. Prior to arrival I had asked for some gym and yoga equipment for myself and a PlayStation to entertain my other half and as promised it was all there ready. They are on hand for an help or advice whenever you need them. There is a range of books and dvds and a Bluetooth speaker and other useful bits included was a filter coffee machine with filter papers. If you stay here and want to go to the beach etc you need to have a car. There are two restaurants that are walkable and good. You can also make arrangements for a free pick up/drop off service with local restaurants as well as food delivery service and an in room chef. On your journey from the airport GO TO THE SUPERMARKET AND STOCK UP! There are only very small supermarkets in 10km radius and they are extremely limited and very expensive in comparison! The internet here is ok, can be slow at times, I bet if it’s busy it could be slower. There is a SMART TV and it has bbc world news. You would need your own Netflix account to access films etc. In short, can’t imagine there is anywhere better to stay in Zante...... just book it!!

We stayed at the Emerald Suites for 1 week for our honeymoon. It was an excellent stay, with hardly anything to comment on. The suite was wonderful, clean and wide bathrooms, breathtaking view. What you don't see on the photos, is the calm, the privacy you get, and mostly the best service by Aggelos, who was a charm. I know next time, I won't plan my Zakynthos stay ahead, I'll just ask him what to do :) He is also very helpful for any order, delivery, advice and tips you need. You get a kitchenette in the room, so perfect for making a little meal for those times you feel like relaxing in the suite, which sometimes was way better than going to a restaurant. The only negative point, is the sunrise that comes from the view side, and with semi-opaque curtains, the room can get pretty lit up and be annoying for shallow sleepers. They said they had already ordered new blackout curtains and would be ready soon.

We have just returned from 10days at Emerald suite and everything was perfect! From booking to check out the experience was fantastic. Good communication with the accommodation prior to arrival sending information on getting to the suites which was really helpful driving from the airport. Located in a peaceful setting with amazing views. The north of the island is much quieter and less touristy than the south but less than an hours drive from the airport. There are just 7 suites here so very private and quiet. Aggelos is on site in the small office each day to help with any trips you may want to book or anything else you may need for your stay so you don't feel isolated. I would definitely recommend a car to get to local restaurants or explore the island. Port Nikolas is a few minute drive away where there is the port for ferry to Kefalonia, boat trips to the blue caves and shipwreck beach, a few restaurants and couple of shops. Food in the shops here is quite pricy so would recommend if wanting to self cater (which we did a number of days) to do a food shop in one of the bigger supermarkets further south on the island (approx. 30minute drive) Each suite is fitted out to the highest standard and beautifully decorated, has a private parking space, great facilities , very good Air conditioning, beautifully clean and cleaned daily. Pictures of the accommodation do not do it justice. Private pool and sun beds with uninterrupted views of the sea are amazing and great if you are looking for a relaxing holiday. I would not hesitate to recommend Emerald villa suites.
