We had an absolutely delightful stay at this wonderful villa in Crete, Chania. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a sense of tranquility and beauty that continued throughout our entire stay. The villa itself was not only comfortable, but it exceeded our expectations in every way, perfectly matching its enticing description. The highlight for us was the stunningly beautiful and expansive garden, a paradise for both children and adults alike.7h The large swimming pool was a true gem, offering refreshing swims under the warm Crete sun. Its dual appeal, catering to both kids and adults, made it a gathering place for laughter and memories. The BBQ gazebo was the perfect spot for our amazing dinners at night. In addition to the marvelous amenities, the villa's location offered a blend of serenity and accessibility. Our gratitude to the hosts for providing us with such a remarkable experience. This villa truly encapsulates the essence of a perfect getaway

Pictures are always deceptive and the owners do not do this villa justice. From the moment we left the main road of the local town Sternes, we knew we were in for a surprise. We ventured down a narrow road and at the end were greeted by the owner Roula and her stupendous villa – a large modern day place with a huge garden, green lawn, large pool and fantastic views over Souda Bay. Roula welcomed us with raki, olives, sweets and biscuits. A welcome sight after a long journey from Australia. The house easily accommodated the 12 of us over three levels in comfortable rooms and more importantly comfortable beds. As the temperature was hot outside, the air conditioning in each room of the house was welcome. At basement level there was a ping pong table and gym, a few couches, a double room and bathroom. A rooftop (where the laundry was located) offered amazing views over the olive groves and bay. The kitchen had all the utensils etc.required (although I did buy a bread knife) including a filter coffee machine and a large fridge to accommodate all our supplies which we got from a local LIddl supermarket not far from Chania, the main town just over 10kms away. The small town of Sternes (less than a kilometre away) had a few taverns, a baker and a mini-market which we frequented from time to time. The pool was an endless source of fun and respite from the heat. It had a great outlook over Souda Bay and to the White Mountains in the distance. It was a pleasure to wake up in the morning and take in the views. Where our family spent most of the time during the evening was the outside dining and kitchen area situated away from the house where we cooked meat on the barbecue for our souvlaki and gyros and pizza in the pizza oven. It was a great place to party during warm, summer nights. A cleaner came in every few days to change sheets, towels etc. And when we had an issue with the television that morning, by mid afternoon the owner had arranged for the delivery of a new tv! Our family had an extraordinary time both in the villa and in Crete. We highly recommend this place. We will be back to visit and to stay at this villa.

House was great and pool was awesome for our family of 8!! The view was incredible!! This villa made for a great home base to check out the island. Also, close to the airport, so that was convenient. We definitely felt on vacation as this home is beautiful…
House was great and pool was awesome for our family of 8!! The view was incredible!! This villa made for a great home base to check out the island. Also, close to the airport, so that was convenient. We definitely felt on vacation as this home is beautiful!! You will definitely need a car if staying at this location, as you need to drive everywhere, nothing is walkable, but that didn’t bother us at all. After a day at the beach or old town Chania, we would drive home to swim in the pool and relax. AC worked great and we had all the amenities we needed to be comfortable. Would 100% stay again!!

We had an amazing stay at this Villa! It was perfect for a group of 10 friends- the pool and views are amazing so it’s easy to spend lots of time at the villa- we also loved the volleyball net. We spent many evenings using the outdoor kitchen and seating area which was great especially as the sun set (though the outside kitchen building is very hot so a fan or something might be good in there). The rooms and beds were all very comfortable and we loved the rooftop and the balconies. We had an issue with one of the AC units and the owners replaced the whole unit on the same day which was amazing. The owners were easy to contact and helped us find a taxi company for one evening in town. In general, hire cars are a must and allowed us to explore the many beaches in the area and go in to Chania easily for dinner etc. Note that the road leading to the villa gets bumpy towards the end but was totally fine in small hire cars. We loved the local beaches and cafes in Marathi and rented a boat from there on our last day. We also went to Seitan and Balos beaches which we loved- but be ready for the walks involved! A great stay at Villa Roula- we’d definitely return and recommend it to friends- thank you!

We stayed here as a group of 8 in September. When we arrived at the Villa we were greeted by the owner who, despite our very late arrival, gave us a great tour of the villa and made us feel at home. We were very impressed by the size and quality of the villa and grounds which looked even better than the photos. All the rooms were luxuriously furnished and the villa had all the facilities we needed with a well equipped kitchen. There were multiple areas to eat and relax outside, and a second covered kitchen in the garden complete with pizza oven and BBQ. The pool was very large and well situated in the garden, capturing the sun all day. The villa is situated near Sternes but had no close neighbours (except for a couple of horses) so feels private and exclusive. There are a number of beautiful beaches, shops and supermarkets nearby but car hire is essential – we rented two cars and were able to take day trips to the Samaria Gorge and Elafonisi Beach without the cost and restrictions of booking a tour. We did find a local taxi company which was useful for going to Chania in the evening. The hosts were exceptionally helpful, offering us a late checkout as we had a late flight at no extra cost. We had a fantastic stay and would love to stay again if in the area. We would highly recommend Villa Roula to anyone looking to stay in a five-star villa close to all Crete has to offer.

The pictures on here do not do this villa justice, it has the most incredible views, so spacious and simply everything you need. We had a group of 12 and it was perfect for us, the communication with the hosts was incredible, any issues we had they were quick to respond and they welcomed us with fresh fruit and snacks. The only thing worth mentioning is the location, there’s not very much in the area and we had trouble finding taxis but the hosts were very helpful and once we sorted it the first time the same taxi company came back for us whenever we needed and were really kind people. It was only about a 15/20 min drive into Chania and was priced very reasonably or the hosts gave us info on car hire which was a good option! A cleaner came one day out of our stay and a pool guy so felt very looked after and again, the pictures do not do the villa justice: the views from the rooftop, the outhouse, multiple outdoor seating areas, pool table, all necessary appliances. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again!

Perfect for large groups!

Very nice Villa for a big group. A lot of space to spend time together but also room for privacy. Amazing grass and many activities for everybody inside and outside, all ages. It was very easy to move around with a rental car.
