Great experience!!!

Absolute stunning house in the middle of a little Greek village. Everything was just perfect - so quiet and within beautiful Cretan nature. For trips to the beach or shopping tours you definitely will need a car but then you can expect a perfect stay

All the necessary facilities are available, and the guidance and support from owner Stelios are exceptional! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a carefree holiday on Crete in a quiet village with all amenities and easy access to all the beautiful spots in central Crete. Heraklion city and the coast (with numerous attractive beaches) are a 20-minute drive away. Alternatively, you can sunbathe on-site from early morning in an undisturbed setting with complete privacy. Maria & Stelios’ villa was absolutely impeccable. My friends & I had an unforgettable stay here it truly exceeded all of our expectations. We wanted a villa with a private pool, and what we got was so much more. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed not only by our wonderful hosts but also by the kind neighbours, who embodied the warmth and generosity of the Greek people.A special mention goes to Poppy, who runs the nearby mini mart just a short walk away she was so lovely & we defo recommend stopping by for all your essentials.The villa itself was exactly as described, yet somehow even more beautiful in person. Every corner was thoughtfully designed & picture perfect, down to the smallest details. Its location is ideal surrounded by breathtaking mountains, while still just a short drive from beaches.Hands down, this is the best villa we’ve stayed in. We have just returned after having a wonderful and relaxing 14 days holiday. Many thanks to our hosts Stelios, Maria and family for your friendliness and hospitality helping us to enjoy our stay. The villa is beautifully decorated in a traditional stone wall and wooden ceiling style situated in a quiet village. It is an ideal base for exploring if you so wish, but car is essential if you are out every day. We made use of the bikes riding to Episkopi on several occasions and found people so friendly they really make you feel at home. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend the villa to family and friends.

Everything was perfect!

The villa is beautiful. It is very well equipped with everything we needed - we really couldn't fault it! It's very spacious, with seating areas outside at the front, back and on the balcony, so there's always a sunny spot (or shady spot if you prefer!). The beds are very comfortable, and all the bedrooms have air conditioning so it's very pleasant even in the height of summer. The pool is a great size and provided so much fun for us all. Stelios, the host, is so friendly and helpful! The village of Sgourokefali is lovely and quiet, and the locals are very friendly. It has a very small minimart with basic groceries, and a bakery selling fresh bread and delicious fresh pastries, so you don't really need to leave the village! Episkopi is a 30 mins walk away where there are more shops including 2 larger supermarkets, a taverna and a lovely (and very reasonably priced) restaurant which we ate at quite a few times.We decided not to hire a car, but on the days we did leave the village, we used a taxi, which cost between 40-60 EUR each way to places like Knossos, Heraklion and Water City. It was easy to get a taxi at Heraklion airport when we arrived, even though there were 5 of us. The same taxi driver gave us his number and we messaged him on Whatsapp when we needed a taxi during our stay, and I'm sure others would do the same. We would definitely stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone!

We loved our stay at the villa. It is large, very comfortable, well-equipped, and the pool and terrace area are stunning. Thoughtful provision of some fresh eggs, water, olive oil and raki. Extremely good and easy communication before and throughout our stay. Stelios also sent many excellent recommendations (shops, restaurants, beach clubs etc). You definitely need a car but it is easy to get around and the villa made the perfect base for exploring the north of the island. Very conveniently located for Heraklion airport (20 mins drive). We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay here and were very sad when our holiday came to an end. Yamas Stelios and Maria!

A very quiet and peaceful stay. Villa is located 20 mins inland from the airport. You need a car to access as its located in a small village at the top of a very steep hill. However acces is simple, one long very well yarmaced road.The villa is very well restored in traditional stone and restored to a high level. Air con is in all bedrooms, but not downstairs in the living room /dinner or kitchen. But because it’s solid stone downstairs, it’s always cool.The outlook to the rear is tranquil and the view is of the surrounding countryside The villa is not overlooked and private. The host - Stelios is a friendly nice guy. He met us on arrival and provided water, eggs and wine FOC for our first night. He only came agin when the cleaners came to change the beelined, towels and clean around. He is always available via WhatsApp if required. Overall a very pleaaant ans relaxing stay - but having a car is a must

You absolutely need a car but the neighbouring villages have lovey little restaurants and mini fruit and veg shops. Lidl is only 18 minutes drive and has everything you need. The Cicada beach bar / restaurant / sunbeds was amazing well worth a visit and again only 15 mins away Our hosts were incredible, super responsive and offered recommendations of restaurants, bars and beaches and ordered us taxis on departure. Air conditioning in the bedrooms and Wi-Fi reception were excellent. Stelios was always easy to reach via WhatsApp and really made every effort to ensure our stay and vacation was a pleasant one. The accommodation offered us everything we needed and was well located for trips to the beach, Heraklion and the airport. Some good recommendations from Stelios so try those out. We had welcome gifts when we arrived and Stelios’ parents next door also kindly dropped in some fruit. Enjoy the sounds of the countryside and the cicadas and make the booking. You won’t be disappointed.

The villa was amazing and was exacttay as described. I loved the stone architecture throughout the villa and differently fit with the old world theme of the village. It was very spacious and my kids enjoyed the pool while I enjoyed the view. Village was small and quiet. Exactly what i was looking for. They were more than helpful to advise local authentic restaurants & places to visit. The Mini-market had all we needed just a few minutes from the Villa. The bikes were ready & any problems, Stelios was on hand to sort. This Villa was so beautiful inside & maintained to a very high standard throughout. I can highly recommend for a relaxing break. In a small town hidden behind a wooden gate is a wonderful beautiful villa. The Greek atmosphere falls on you like a warm blanket. Nothing is missing from everything we think about. The pool is a pure experience of not chlorine but clear salt water. Where you want to get out of the sun there is a seat but also for those who love the sun there is a sunbed. Inside it is cool and fully equipped. The view is a romantic mountain full of olive trees and alternating with vines.

Lovely house near Heraklion

It is a very lovely house, very well situated to visit Heraklion and other sites in the center of Crete. Altough the house is in a village, it is very calm. Stelios, the owner, is very gentle and answers queries. We would definitely recommend it.

A fantastic place to stay in Crete. Would 100% recommend!

The villa is beautiful, very clean and spacious. We really liked the location, as it made for a more cultural experience - being up in the hills in a more local (rather then tourist) area. Stelios and his wife were very accommodating.

Our family had a wonderful week. It was the perfect base to explore and a secluded refuge to return to. Stelios and Maria could not have been more welcoming or helpful and it was lovely to be left a selection of local treats to enjoy. The villa is perfect, if you like a quiet spot away from the usual tourist routes, although it's easy to get to Heraklion and other sights and is only 15 minutes from the airport. Plenty of shops in the next village, Episkopi, and a lovely taverna recommended by Stelios. The villa is beautifully traditional with cool rooms and plenty of space. The main terrace and pool area are green and leafy, totally private and very sunny. There are three other terraces and balconies to choose from or seek solitude on. House is very well equipped with excellent air-con in the bedrooms. We only found Greek TV channels but we didn't miss the TV and the WiFi is great, certainly able to stream a movie when needed. All in all, a lovely holiday. Thank you!
