AMAZING! Class & comfort combined

Let's start with our host Despina: what a wonderful lady! She welcomed us with open arms (literally!) and gave us a grand tour of our villa. She explained the art work, architecture, the love her and her husband had put into building these homes and…
Let's start with our host Despina: what a wonderful lady! She welcomed us with open arms (literally!) and gave us a grand tour of our villa. She explained the art work, architecture, the love her and her husband had put into building these homes and it showed! To top it off, we received a big welcome package filled with treats, honey and olive oil! Then the villa itself, a home away from home. It is even better than the pictures in real life! Comfort and class combined. There were days we didn't even leave the villa as it has all that you need. Breakfast was also carefully prepared by a chef and with delicious variety every day. Location: ideally placed within a 5 min drive from Platanias beaches and restaurants. Luxury beach clubs 15min drive away. A small supermarket at walking distance and a lidl 5min drive away. Chania less than 30min drive away. Recommend hiking Rikko Gorge only 30min drive away. STUNNING! In the villa itself you can see the sunset beautifully from the terrace upstairs. Eventhough you are so close to liveliness, the villa itself is located in a quiet street so we slept like babies. We also loves the local restaurant (8min walk away) so much, we dined there 2 out of the 4 nights! I stayed with my partner and some friends for 4 nights and we wish we stayed longer. But we will surely return. Thank you Despina for your hospitality. We look back at our stay with beautiful memories.

Despina and her team are the best hosts anyone could ask for.We booked this villa for 5 days and we felt at home.The villa was very spacious for 6 adults and 1 child and extremely clean and very well maintained, exactly as shown in the photos.We had daily housekeeping just like in 5 stars hotels.Best breakfast i have had in a while with fresh eggs, cheese, yoghurt with honey and various Cretan specialities. Effie the always smily and sweet chef will make you experience at Conte Marino villas an unforgetable one.Despina helped us charter a boat for a full day trip to Balos and nearby secret beaches, i recommend it to all, but make sure to check the weather forecast and the condition of the sea before you adventure.We will be back for sure as we fell in love with Crete and the villa.Bravo to the entire team for a job well done..

What can you say about this accommodation? Everything is a perfect 10 and Despina is simply wonderful. There was nothing that wasn't perfect. Whatever a visitor requests is available. From high-quality cookware and tableware to a washer-dryer.The house is made with the best materials and it is clear that someone has spent time and money to make all of this perfect.The breakfast and staff are wonderful! Well done! We ended up at the villas by chance, after an extremely unpleasant experience at another accommodation in Heraklion, and honestly, maybe what they say "every obstacle is a good thing" is true, because our stay there was the best. I recommend it with my eyes closed! P.S.: I had the best sleep of my life in this bed!

The villa was excellent spotlessly clean and every detail taken care of. Despina was a superb host from initial contact right up to leaving the property. The villa is beautifully appointed and only 2 miles from teh nearest beach which is quiet and beautiful. The nearby Acacia restaurant in the village is great for an easy night out with good food. Despina's help went right from giving us tips on places to visit to finding a dentist for me due to a mishap. The pool was beautiful and the garden had orange and lemon trees and was beautifully set. I would highly recommend this villa both as a relaxing place and as a good base for exploring Western Crete

We had an exceptional stay at these villas in Maleme. The villas are stunning in their architectural design, blending modern elegance with traditional Cretan touches. Everything is so well thought out for the guests’ comfort, from the spacious interiors to the beautifully organised outdoor areas, it feels like every detail has been carefully considered. The villas are equipped with every luxury you could want, making it a perfect place to relax in style. Maleme is a peaceful base, but you do need a car to really enjoy all that Crete has to offer, from beaches and mountain drives to Chania’s old town. The highlight of our stay was the owner’s warm hospitality. Despina was attentive, thoughtful, and clearly dedicated to making sure guests have the best possible experience. That personal touch made all the difference. A truly memorable stay, we highly recommend these Villas for anyone seeking a luxurious and well-organised holiday base in Crete with a touch of magic.

The "Hostess..." title is an expression when a hostess does a wonderful job! Despina created an attractive, spacious oasis among olive trees. The vacation home is even nicer than the lovely photos. The outdoor space is private for the guests with fruit-bearing plantings and diverse flowers. Nice path w fencing of our space leads past 2 other pretty homes, lending each privacy. The outdoor shared area for breakfast was beyond words-fabulous. How pampered and novel to wake up each morning and be greeted by cheerful Chef Viktoras Chairetakis who set a beautiful table w tasty foods. We had our first ever private chef-made dinner at our patio's table at sunset. These great leftovers & the hostess' premium gift basket goodies kept us fed and happy after our beach days. The attention to detail & comfort throughout the home will really be appreciated by those who love beauty. I chose this home for a few day stay because I wanted to feel I was living equally nicely in Crete as I do in my home. On vacation, after travels, sometimes one longs for a large, luxurious space like this among a few local homes & countryside. An easy car commute to a boat can take guests to one of the nicest beaches I have ever visited. At first, I thought to find a semi-private boat, but the inexpensive, large boat really was nice, too. The memory of the water & joy of sailing to Balos Beach will be with us forever. Every need, even instructions for TV-Netflix usage was met. Special stay! Thanks!

We spent 4 wonderful days in this architect-designed house, very well laid out, very comfortable and very well equipped.Despina was very helpful, professional and attentive.This villa is a haven of peace.An excellent restaurant awaits you in the center of the village.absolute calm, cicada songs and orange grove available.The furniture is exceptional and the swimming pool is magnificent.Breakfast is served in an annex in the garden with quality food and lovely staff.What more can we say except that we left with a heavy heart and at the last minute.Unfortunately, we won't be back because we're looking for new horizons, but you can go there with your eyes closed...

Amazing Villa!

A master bedroom, en suite bathroom and private balcony on the second floor, two air conditioners upstairs to customize settings, plus a well-thought-out, private design are all features of this house. The pool has couches and a full outdoor dining table on one side with a fully retractable shade. On the other side, lounge chairs. On every side: oranges bursting from the trees, which we used each day to squeeze fresh orange juice. Though the house shares an entranceway and a driveway with the neighboring villa, it is very quiet and private. It is about a mile from the beach and three supermarkets (Lidl, Synka and Coop). The AC and pool offered much-needed respite from the heat of summer (over 35C some days we were there). The villa's host, Despina, was very responsive. While at the supermarket, I couldn't figure out which brand of coffee capsules were needed for the machine and she messaged me right back. Despina met us at the villa to make sure we were comfortably settled in, too.

Add the extra day or two, just do it, truly wished we would have! It was everything and more! From the excellent communication to the welcome gifts to answering all of our questions (and we had quite a few). The Villa was comfortable had amazing amenities with wonderful features of texture and art--the windows/doors to the outside views were incredible. Very peaceful. The orange and lemon trees had amazing fruit--fresh orange juice everyday! The pool was delightful. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. We learned about the history of the town we were in and just so happened that it was during the Days of Remembrance--June 2 we attended a moving concert--the most cultural enriching experience during our trip. Grateful to have felt so welcome to attend. Location was far enough away and close enough to drive into Chania--same for the beaches. Despina was the most gracious host and loved every bit of her stories as we learned so much from her. Would have loved to just sit and had coffee with her sometime.

We stayed at thses Villas in May and it exceeded our expectations. Truly an elegant design arising from the engineering creativity of its owners and our hosts, Despina and Nikos, along with famous architects and impeccable interior design. It has everything you could want both inside and out and Despina was very gracious welcoming us with a lovely basket of local Cretan goodies and helping us plan our outings. We loved the details of the design inside the home as well as the exterior which are both quite spacious and luxurious. The pool is large and adds to the overall ambience as well as the wonderful orange trees and lovely foliage. Each morning began with fresh squeezed orange juice and pastries from the nearby patisseries. We rented a car and drove all over Crete. Our favorite towns were Chania and Rethymno. The drive through Topolia Gorge to Elafonisi beach was spectacular but we liked Falassarna beach just as much and it was less crowded. We loved sunset dinners at the port in Chania and shopping around the charming village. Despina was very thoughtful in recognizing the birthdays of our adult children with a delicious cheesecake our last night. She even bought numerical candles for them which was an extra special touch. We could not have asked for anything more and were all sad to leave this magical place. We hope to return again some day!
