8 Canadians in Vamos

Vamos Village was perfect and we had dinner at wonderful, friendly and inexpensive restaurants all within minutes walk. 2 stunning beach towns within 10 minutes. Highly recommended location and property. Thank you for making our Crete holiday beautiful.

The property is as attractive as the photographs, up-to-date and well maintained. Management, the plumber and the pool people are all terrific at this modern take on a village house. The maid comes in for basics every 2 to 3 days. The house is in the small village of Vamos about half an hour from Chania and 15 minutes from the closest beaches. It is far enough away to enjoy the Crete village lifestyle. The village has three small markets, a bank with ATM, a terrific butcher, a pharmacy and a baker. It is pleasant to get up in the morning and stroll through the village collecting your supplies for the day. The village also has three terrific restaurants, two pizza spots, a desert shop and a few cafes in which to spend the afternoon watching the passing world like a local. The village is billed as a "Traditional Crete Village." It is . There has been quite a bit of restoration activity and there is a small cadre of British expats. The locals are welcoming and friendly.

The whole home is so high tech and has everything you could want. The kitchen is a bit small to cook in but we managed most nights. Each room has a en-suite which was really great. All in all a great stay and Vamos is a lovely little village with an excellent taverna called Sterna Tou Bloumosifi which we ate at a few times since it was so delicious! Lovely flora and fauna surrounding the home with a small church across the road with lemon trees growing out front. Beautiful views from the upstairs balcony! We would love to return next year.

Amazing villa

The villa was amazing! I just wish I lived there. It was nice to be in a village rather than in the town but places we wanted to go were very accessible. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Absolutely fantastic villa!

The white lotus villa was absolutely fantastic, I would highly recommend, very high standard and pool was great for my 5 year old son. Lovely restaurants within walking distance, and beeches a short drive away highly recommend.

This was my second time in Crete and it won't be my last as I'll definitely return to White Lotus Villa again! Location-wise, this is a perfect base for seeing the beautiful western side of this magical island - accessible to Balos, Elafonisi and very close to Chania! The modern finishings are beautiful, the pool was our hang-out every day and all the bedrooms were luxurious and outfitted with amazingly comfortable beds. Cannot recommend staying here enough!

Well where can I start, I visited White Lotus on 2nd Jul for 1 week, with my two daughters in their twenties and their boyfriends and 16yr old son. The villa is absolutely stunning (there are no words to describe how amazing it is!) and is more than what we needed.. it was spotless. the location is remote and a car will be needed but it was our first time driving abroad and found it really easy. We took our TomTom and is worked perfectly. There is a local English butcher nearby and we had 3 BBQ's at the villa during our stay. the local taverna has the most amazing food we have ever tasted and the owner is so friendly! Trust me you will not be disappointed with choosing this villa!

This villa was truly exceptional - every need was catered for. Just a 40 min drive from the airport, we were met at the villa by one of the UP Crete representatives, who showed us round, and made sure we knew how to use the alarm system, and all the appliances and tech. The rooms were all very well appointed and tastefully decorated (we used the master bedroom which had a spacious en-suite with double shower wetroom). We'd been left the essentials in terms of food - milk, juice, bread, wine, butter and jams, ham and cheese, which gave us a bit of breathing room to find our feet. The pool was a joy to use and cool down. Although we travelled and explored a bit, we also spent two days completely at the villa - something we don't usually do. There was a good selection of board games in addition to the tech. The villa itself is situated in the middle of the village so it's easy to walk to the bakery, butcher, taverna's etc; you do need a car to go further afield. We felt very much at home here and it was a shame to leave. We had intended to share this holiday with family, who unfortunately couldn't make it, so it was a large villa just for the two of us, but we loved it!

The white lotus villa is an amazing, modern gem hidden amongst the sleepy village of Vamos. The hosts went above and beyond to make our week long stay a memorable. We arrived late and were greeted by the host who had prepared a traditional snack for us. He had also left breakfast for the next few days and a lovely bottle of wine because it was too late to pick up supplies from a store. The location of the white lotus villa is perfect if your after peace and quiet but still wanting to be within walking distance to shops and local restaurants as well as being close enough to Chania town by bus and within kilometres of multiple beaches. The views from the villa are breathtaking and the sunset view which you get from the front door is to die for. Everything about this villa is that of a 5 star hotel. I highly recommend this place and I would definitely stay here again. Connor

Visually stunning, luxurious, and highly spec'd villa with high tech and everything provided for your comfort. The level of technology provided (wifi, large screen TVs in every room and in inside and outside sitting room areas, games machine, tablet computer, local mobile phone and CCTV security) seemed like overkill to me, but delighted the rest of my party. The villa has a boutique hotel feel, with each room beautifully decorated and highly appointed. The pool is modestly sized but lovely and with a comfortable outdoor four poster bed for luxurious sunbathing (there's another 4 poster in one of the rooms inside). I doubt that there's a better appointed villa in Vamos, which is a pretty, traditional rural Cretan village. There's a good range of tavernas and cafes nearby, and a range of activities arranged by the tourist office in the village. We bought fresh pastries and bread in the village bakery daily and used Vamos as a base for exploring the local area, including Chania and Rethymno by car. The sheer range and level of tech provided in the villa seemed like overkill to me, and a bit of a distraction from the peace and tranquility of the village, though it definitely kept everyone in our party amused and happy. We enjoyed the seclusion of the private courtyard by day, great views of the sunset over the Cretan hills from the balcony in the evening, and the feeling that we were getting a taste of Cretan village life, without sacrificing at all our creature comforts. Highly recommend this villa for a luxury stay in Vamos, and this location for a taste of real Crete.
