Lovely villa, secluded location yet close enought to restaurants

Overall, ideal for what we wanted.

Our villa was perfect, couldn't fault it in any way. The beaches locally are stunning and there is everything you need within easy reach. It's a peaceful and relaxing location, and a perfect base to explore the rest of the island. The closeness to the airport makes it so easy for transfers to and from, but there is no real disruption from incoming and outgoing flights, just occasional, brief and faint engine noise. The villa itself was immaculate - we loved it. Everyone was so friendly, warm and helpful and the pool, garden and inside were cleaned daily with minimal intrusion. We loved the island and the villa and will definitely be returning for another relaxing and chilled out break.

We visited one of these villas at the end of August. Very easy to get to from the airport and straight forward if you hire a car, we didn't but wish we had. It takes about 5 mins or so in a cab.The villa is lovely, lots of space outside and an added bonus of having your own pool. My children spent many hours in the pool!Inside the villa is nice, it has air conditioning which was definitely required, it would ideally suit a family of 4 rather than 5. The villa was cleaned daily by Athena and she was a lovely lady even taking some of our own washing to do!The aeroplanes coming in to land were quite frequent some days but did not cause us any bother. If anything they were quite interesting to watch.Mini markets- you have one at the end of the villa road on the corner, as someone else has mentioned this shop is quite expensive. Another mini- market which is little bit further away about 10 min walk has more of a selection and is a better price, to get to this one follow the villa road out back on to the main road, turn left and stay on this road, the shop is on your right not far passed Crazy George's Bar.We used the bus to get to Lassi beach and to go to Argostili. You can catch the bus at the end of the villa road. I took a photo of the timetable so I had it on me to refer to.We preferred Lassi Beach to Ai Helis and Ammes (closest beaches) because the water seemed a lot calmer, my children also enjoyed looking for the fish in the water. The highlight has got to be seeing the turtles in Argostili and watching baby turtles at Avithos Beach.Overall the Villa is in a good location to explore Kefalonia. The only negative point I do have is the noise daily from a very barky dog, this I know is out of the control of the villa owners but it was quite a nuisance at times.

Four villas set in quiet location. Access is up a track which can be a little bumpy but was ok in our hire car. The villa we had was on the end which ment the pool was around the corner making it a little more private. Entering the villa it's an open plan setup with a well equipped kitchen which has a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven and toaster. A washing machine would have been more useful than the dishwasher, but this didn't spoil our stay. Also on the on this floor and up a step was the main bedroom with bathroom. Downstairs is the second bedroom. This has two single beds which can setup to suit. It also has its own bathroom. All areas have air conditioning which was included and was very useful during our stay in August. Outside there is a patio with table and chairs. The pool was excellent and there are four sun beds and a sofa to sit out on. House keeping visited most days and the grounds and plants were maintained everyday during our stay. We found a car useful but there is a shop and restaurants all in within 5-10mins walk. The beach is about 15mins walk which has beds and parsols you can hire for 7 Euro and a beach bar. It's was a really relaxing and enjoyable stay and will look at visiting again

Peaceful, restful, recharge guaranteed.

Lovely villa, great pool, large garden. Plenty of seating areas in sun and shade. Well equipped, Downstairs room accessed by wooden stairs, recommend you don't go down with wet feet as no handrail, husband slipped and got a lovely bruise. All in all…

We love staying at the villas. We have stayed for the past three years and can't wait to come back to stay. They are family owned and what a lovely family they are. Nothing is too much trouble and make you feel so welcome. We always try to stay twice a year if we can. The area is fantastic for us with very, very friendly people in the restaurants. The villas are well laid out with your own pool which is fantastic. The gardener comes ever night to clean the pool and tends to the grounds. He is such a fantastic chap and so friendly. He keeps everything spotless.I cannot fault anything at all and can't recomend the villas highly enough.

The older we get, the less we like being around other people, especially if the sunbeds are crammed in too closely. So, we decided that instead of getting a studio s/c holiday we'd try a villa holiday. We were looking for some specific criteria - not too pricey, private pool, close to a Minimart and tavernas, some privacy. As we love Kefalonia, we were delighted to find these villas. We've not had a villa holiday before so had no idea what to expect but our stay in Sotiris villas way exceeded our hopes. We liked it so much we'll be booking for next year.LocationWe loved the quiet location. It was just the right combination of reasonably close to shops etc and away from it all. The 4 villas are located in Svoronata, a spread out and quiet resort. I reckon it would take around 40-45 mins to walk from one end to the other although the ends aren't well defined. The villas are sort of in the middle of Svoronata, up a shingle road. They feel really quiet and private. Some days all we could hear was birdsong and cicadas with the occasional airplane. At the end of the road leading to the villas is a Minimart with a friendly owner. He makes his own cheese and sells eggs from his chickens. However, the prices are around 20% more expensive than other minimarts. If you come out of the road to the villas and turn left, you'll come to a couple of tavernas, a Minimart (cheaper and with more choice) - about 10-15 mins. Keep going and you'll come to a crossroads. Turn left for the petrol station and a couple of tavernas, turn right for Avithos beach and tavernas. Leave the villa road and turn right then left and you come to Ai Helis beach, if you don't turn left but keep going you pass La Calma cocktail bar, the harbour and eventually come to Ammos beach. Turn right there (and then right again) and you get to Sotiris apartments. The villasHonestly, we were so impressed. There's been so much attention to detail. When you walk in on the ground floor you have a small kitchen area and dining area which has everything you need to self cater. You could probably throw a dinner party! We didn't but we made food almost every day and had we been brave enough to drive to the supermarket we could have been more adventurous! You will need to bring sponges and fairy liquid but almost everything else was provided including tea towels, a couple of dishwasher tablets and Tupperware. There's a seating area, which could be a fifth bed but we used it for lounging and it was very comfy, a tv, open plan bedroom (raised from the main area) and shower room. Downstairs there are twin beds and another shower room. The beds are comfy, linens are good quality and wifi was sufficient to watch Netflix. There was also a really powerful shower and loads of hot water. We had changes of linen and towels on the Tuesday we arrived, Friday, Tuesday and Saturday with bins emptied and floors mopped in between. The pool was cleaned everyday, the gardener came to mow the lawns once in the fortnight and the maintenance man replenished the dishwasher with salt. There were plenty of plug points and the air con was quiet and effective.Outside was also lovely, the villas face south so loads of sun and the pool was bracing in the morning and refreshing in the afternoon. A man comes each day to clean the pool and the gardener comes on Sundays. Sunbeds were comfortable and there was a BBQ (didn't use), table and chairs and clothes horse thing. There were even nightlight burners and really pretty ones too.Basically, everything was clean, comfortable and well thought out and perfect for small families or close friend groups. I would suggest though that given the stairs to the second bedroom and the depth of the pool it wouldn't be suitable for families with toddlers, you'd probably need the kids to be at least 5yrs to remove some worry and work. The peopleThe Fragias family are so lovely. We were picked up from the airport by Anthony and Maria and Anthony visited the villas most days to see if anything was needed in a very low key and unobtrusive way. On our last day they bent over backward to ensure we had somewhere to change before leaving - I was blown away by their consideration and general loveliness.RestaurantsWe ate in a couple of restaurants but the best was Sotiris apartments - about 15-20 mins walk from the villas. Food was fresh and tasty. Fillipos at La Calma was a very friendly host - we visited in gale force winds and in a Power cut and he was very welcoming!Overall, if you are looking for comfortable and well designed villas in a quiet location then you can't do better than these.
