We had the absolute pleasure of staying in Maria’s beautiful villa outside Chania for 7 weeks during May and June, and it was truly one of the most special experiences we’ve ever had as a family. Traveling with two young children (2.5 yrs and 6 months) can be a challenge, but from the moment we arrived, everything felt easy, comfortable, and incredibly welcoming. The villa itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had everything we could possibly need for an extended stay — from a fully equipped kitchen to comfy bedrooms and lots of outdoor space where our son could play safely. The pool was a hit with an enclosed area where he could stand and play. The attention to detail was clear in every corner of the home. Maria was the most gracious and thoughtful host. She went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home, offering fantastic local recommendations, checking in regularly to see if we needed anything, and even surprising us with little touches that made our stay feel extra special. Her warmth and hospitality truly made all the difference. Chania itself is a dream — charming, vibrant, yet relaxed enough to be a perfect place for families. We loved wandering through the old town, enjoying beach days, and exploring the Cretan countryside. The location of the villa gave us the best of both worlds: peaceful and quiet, yet close to everything we needed. We left with full hearts, lasting memories, and a deep appreciation for Maria’s kindness. If you’re considering a family trip to Crete, this villa is an absolute gem. We can’t wait to return!

We recently stayed at this beautiful villa in Chania, Crete, and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The villa is located close to the beach, offering stunning views and easy access to the sea. The owner was incredibly kind, helpful, and responsive, making sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The pool area was a highlight — spacious, well-maintained, and perfect for relaxing. Inside, the villa had a generously sized kitchen and dining areas both indoors and outdoors, ideal for meals at any time of day. We were impressed with the modern amenities, including smart TVs that allowed us to easily connect to Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime. Upon arrival, we were greeted with freshly baked cakes, which was such a thoughtful touch! We were a group of 4 couples we found the villa to be perfectly designed, with lots of different areas to escape to. The accommodation was very clean and modern. We spent the majority of our time in the outdoor space and the pool which was great. Maria was amazing, she was very responsive to our many questions and gave us some great recommendations. She even cooked us a delicious meal. Galatas itself is a lovely village, it has everything you need, we ate in all 3 of the restaurants and found them all to be delicious. I would definitely stay again and hopefully one day we will.

Der Aussenbereich ist sehr schön und einladend zum grillen , schwimmen und entspannen im Pool oder auf einer von mehreren Terassen. Die Gastgeber waren sehr nett und haben Tipps gegeben was Restaurants oder andere Aktivitäten angeht. Alles in allem ein sehr schöner Urlaub und eine absolute Traumvilla auf der Insel Kreta.

Wow. This villa absolutely blew us away. Staying here is pure luxury. The pool is beautiful and much bigger than it looked in the photos. Everything was clean and in perfect condition. The views of the mountains were stunning, and visible from many angles due to the multiple balconies around the property. Maria was such a lovely host, providing a fully stocked fridge for us on arrival, changing our sheets and towels, and even cooking a delicious traditional Greek meal for us one night. She went above and beyond to make this the most wonderful holiday possible. The villa’s location provided a great base for visiting the stunning nearby beaches, such as Falassarna and Elafonissi, as well as being great distance from Chania, brilliant restaurants and local shops. This villa exceeded all expectations and we can’t wait to return in future.

The Villa is a beautiful oasis in a very quiet area on the outskirts of Chania. My family of six stayed for 11 nights and we will definitely be visiting again in the future. Maria and Yannis are the nicest hosts you could ever meet and always respected our privacy and our time. Maria cooked us a pastitsio for dinner one evening and her mother baked us a lovely cake. The fridge was full of all the basics we needed on our arrival and the villa is just stunning. The Villa is a 15 min drive to the Harbour area of Chania town and about 10 minutes to our favourite resort of Agia Marina. Thank you Maria and Yannis for making our holiday one of the best we have ever had xx

Unique Villas is an absolutely beautiful luxurious villa, perhaps even better than the photos. It has absolutely everything you could possibly need, the kitchen wasn’t missing a thing and really made it a joy to cook and eat at home. There was even a bag of charcoal ready to be used by the bbq as well as a plethora of eating locations both inside and outside (dining outside in the terrace was marvelous). Maria, the host, is an absolute delight, a very kind, thoughtful and welcoming person—one evening she even brought us a tray of pastitsio, it was delicious! There was a home made cake to greet us upon our arrival and the refrigerator was well stalked . Having water and other beverages already chilled along with food in the fridge is a bit something that every host does, Unique Villas really went above and beyond and really did make our stay one to remember. I really do believe we will return to the villa, it left us such great memories. Thank you Maria!

I travel a lot, and I'm yet to come across a villa stay more perfect than what Maria created for us. It was perfect from beginning to end, made beautiful and special by all of Maria's unique touches that helped our holiday home feel like home! Maria welcomed us with a tour of the villa, along with a delicious homemade cake by her mum, and a fully stocked fridge which was particularly ideal considering our late arrival - hydration & next morning's breakfast was made so easy! This included: Edam cheese, ham, bread, butter, jam, mixed salad items, mixed fruits, sweets, a bottle of wine, raki, milk, juices, water, and more! Not forgetting her homemade organic olive oil and honey.. what an absolute treat! Maria provided us with lots of restaurant and activity recommendations, and was warm, welcoming, and easy to contact throughout our entire stay! The villa itself was very clean, and spacious has a fantastic BBQ area and private pool - even larger than the photos show, and all the amenities you could need. The location was great too - only a 20min drive from the old town (you definitely need a car in Crete!) and a local delicious Greek restaurant for meat lovers called 'Mastrapas' with LIVE music. Maria went above and beyond to be the hostess with the mostess by arranging a wonderful home-cooked dinner for us one of our evenings. Even after we left, Maria checked in to ensure everything went okay with our return home. She honestly treated us like family. I could not recommend this villa more, and would return in a heartbeat. An unforgettable experience!

Perfect for group of eight people or less. There is all what you need for good holiday. House is clean, beds are fine, many possibilities to eat outside or inside, pool is enough big and everything is in order. Maria the host is great sunny person and easy to communicate. Village of Galatas hivenen you a nide experience of little shops like butcher, bakery, market and great caffeteria. Also you can eat well there in a walking distance. You can take bus to Chania every hour from the village. It cost 1.50-2.50€ depence where to buy the ticket. With taxi 12- 18€ depence of time. You can walk to Agia Maria beach in 20 min or drive with car 5 min. When we arrive there was some food waiting in a fridge. Maria also broad a local food for one day to us. We also got olive oil and honey for out needs from they garden. Lovely place to experience Creta.

I cannot recommend this place enough!

The house is amazing! Super clean and a big property all to yourself. You can’t beat the price either. The host were prompt, communicated perfectly, and were super generous leaving us 2 bottles of wine and a cake!

Our hosts we so kind and welcoming. The best experience I have had with a rental. The villa was perfect, it was clean and open and had literally everything you would need for an unbelievable experience in Crete. Our hosts recommended a restaurant they frequent walking distance from the villa that is still the best lamb I have ever eaten. Will definitely stay again when we come back to Crete.
