Beach: 2km

Carved into the rugged landscape in the area of Paliki and situated at the picturesque village of Mantzavinata, Voltera Villa Kefalonia is a mix of tradition, nature, and contemporary living. Here, open spaces and large bedrooms overlook cliffs, azure waters, and mountains.

Lush landscaping frames the sunset views and luxury amenities round out the experience at Voltera Villa Kefalonia. This gorgeous three-bedroom villa looks out over the expanse of the Ionian Sea and is close to several beautiful beaches. It opens to its own private swimming pool with an al-fresco dining area and outdoor lounge —perfect for sipping coffee in the morning or watching the sunset after a refreshing dip.

It was reconstructed using local materials and traditional techniques, resulting in an alluring blend that reflects the island's history, with a contemporary flavor. The villa’s bright, modern interiors nod to the surrounding scenery in an understated way.  Inside one finds a mix of inspiring contemporary décor and authentic flavors of Kefalonia. Earthy tones of wood and hues of white, grey, and beige are accented with pieces and furnishings in bold yet warm hues that provide a placid natural escape for the senses to wonder.

Beautiful furniture grace the dining room and kitchen, while in the living room, you can relax on an immense sofa. Amateur and pro chefs alike will be drawn to the fully equipped kitchen. Two of the bedrooms have double beds and en-suite bathrooms; the third has two twin beds. Charming details lend the bedroom's personality, and the views are wonderful whether you’re looking out to the ocean or up at the mountains.

Voltera Villa Kefalonia is a solitary vision that provides a true escape from urban life. Minimalist style and an earthy warm palette highlight the understated luxury of the property. Spacious, ornately sophisticated, and well-appointed, Villa Voltera is ideal for luxury island living.

Beautiful views. The villa isn’t overlooked by any other properties so feels lovely and private. On arrival we found the kitchen thoughtfully stocked with everything you need after a long trip-milk, coffee, bread, cheese, ham, cereal etc and a huge array of fruit. It’s within 5 min drove of Lixouri, which has plenty of bars and restaurants, and also 5 mins drive in the other direction to xi beach (sandy, very shallow and calm, taverna-perfect for families). Kostas was always in touch making sure we had everything we needed. I couldn’t have asked for more from a host.

Kostas is a first class host , who communicates with clients from the very outset. He is helpful, with good English, and always responds immediately to any requests. He coordinated meeting us off the ferry and taking us to the villa, where he had left us a well stocked fridge/ kitchen at no extra cost. The villa itself is off the beaten track in a village called Mantzavinata, about 4km from Lixouri. The back deck and pool offer a breathtaking view (particularly at sunrise) across towards Argostoli and the bay . Stargazing there at night was a particular favourite of ours. The villa is great if you want privacy (no near neighbours, no one overlooking you - you can be as noisy as you like!) and want the luxury of your own pool. We spent hours in and around the villa, just relaxing and marvelling at the views, dipping in and out of the pool. (Please note the pool is unfenced, so not suitable for young children) The villa is simple and spacious, with everything you need in terms of equipment, including good WiFi. The bedrooms have aircon, which you need in high season. It was originally Kostas’ parents home, and feels more like a home than a holiday villa. The villa is thoroughly cleaned every other day. The family cat still comes to visit, and food is provided for her! Lixouri , with a good restaurants and facilities (including a car ferry 3 times an hour across the bay to Argostoli - 20 mins) is only 10 minutes away. You will need a car, as all the beaches, shops and restaurants are a short drive way rather than walkable, but no more than 10 minutes drive. We had an enjoyable relaxing time in our visit in August (note the local village has a great wine festival mid- August every year- that is walkable!), and Kostas did everything to help us have a lovely holiday. Thank you Kostas.

The house has lovely views across the bay towards Argostoli. Kostas is a truly wonderful host. He quickly made contact after booking via (Hidden by Airbnb) and was always there to answer any questions and was extremely helpful. The house was very easy to find using Kostas map/sat nav. The house is located close to a supermarket (few mins drive away) and the town of Lixouri with tavernas, shops etc. The house is well equipped (in particular the kitchen) and clean, comfortable and simply furnished. It was cleaned every other day. The fridge was very well stocked for our arrival - thank you! The children enjoyed playing in the pool and looking after the cat and her kittens. Note, they do not come in the house. We would definitely recommend. Thank you Kostas!

We stayed at Villa Voltera, 4 adults, 10 days end of June beginning of July 2018 and we loved the place. The owner was concerned about our wellbeing and every second day was asking if everything was OK. The villa is in a very quiet place, very clean, and this is what we were looking for. We would be ready to come back and would recommend this place for people who like quiet place and do not mind driving as a car is necessary for this place. We also liked the nature around the house and to visit the Island Kefalonia.

Villa Volterra is simply sublime - there is everything you could possibly need and it is beautiful throughout. Everything is clean and well kept. Kostas is a gracious host, from the lovely fresh groceries when you arrive, to the help and advice whilst you are there, nothing is ever too much trouble. The villa has so much to offer; a gorgeous pool, the rose garden over the fence, incredibly stunning views (especially at night with little to no light pollution,) plenty of comfortable outdoor seating and shade, clean linen and towels refreshed throughout the week, three bathrooms, a fully kitted out kitchen, satellite TV, shade to park the car under - soooo much more, it's hard to mention it all! We spent many a blissful evening dipping in the pool, sitting under the stars watching the lights twinkle on the shores opposite, listening to the goats' bells tinkle in the distance - it is a little slice of heaven. I would recommend bringing binoculars, the views stretch across the mountains and to the sea, well worth taking it all in. We hired a car, but I would seriously recommend getting something with a bit of oumpf! The little car we had struggled with five people and the steep, winding mountain roads - but we made it to many beautiful towns and beaches, the drive was all part of the fun ;) Then there is the very special Eve, the villa's sweet little cat - she is shy, and she never tries to go in the house, but if you care to, you can feed her out by the back door and after a couple of days she will let you stroke behind her ear, she really is a darling little thing. I would highly recommend Villa Volterra and Kostas - you will have an amazing stay in beautiful, luxurious surroundings, and not least come home feeling you have made a friend.

Kostas's villa is a fantastic base to visit Kefalonia, especially if you like to stay away from the tourist areas. Kostas met us at the port to help us find the villa which is tucked away in a beautiful spot with lovely views and away from other houses. The villa has everything you need and both villa and pool were kept immaculately clean. Kostas regularly kept in touch with us to check if everything was ok and helped us with recommendations of places to visit and to eat. He even left food an drink in the villa to help us settle in. There is a supermarket a 3 minute drive away, so it was easy to stock up while we were there. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the villa and would highly recommend a stay here. Thanks Kostas :-)

We've travelled to Kefalonia party of five (4 adults and one teenage kid). The island is goreous! A lot of places to visit and the beaches are the most beautiful part! We lived on Villa Voltera and it was as great as we expected! It looked just like on the pictures. The house, furniture are brand new, every room has bathroom and aircondition, the kitchen is fully equiped. The owner Kostas was more than hospitable! In the airport there was ataxi waiting for us, the fridge was full of water, milk and fruits. The pool is nice and clean and there is a great view to the hills and the sea. The best part is that there is no other houses around! So it's very quite and peacefull. There is one supermarket 3 minutes drive and Lixuri with all the restaraunts and shops is 7 minutes by car. The beaches are all in druving distance, but the island is not to big, so it's not a problem! The longest distance is the Antisamos beach and it's about an hour. Other wonderful beaches like Mirtos and Xi are closer. The villa is suitable to any company - whether you like parties or relax. We highly recommebd it and would love to come back!
