My family and I spent a week here. While at the Blue Caves Villas, I got an email and phone call with bad news about our beloved dog, Johnny. It was extremely hard to be in such an amazing villa with such an amazing view and hear such sad news. Well, the fates must have known how to help. Dias, the resident dog, came to visit us that same evening and comforted us. It was if he KNEW we were sad. Dias kept an eye on us for the rest of the week. Now, back to the review of the villa - - - all the other reviews say the same thing and it's true. What is there to not like? Ok, the wifi was not great. And, ironically, there was an issue with our payment -and our cellular and wifi wasn't the best to call the bank, log in to the bank etc. I say ironically - cuz - the owner, Georgios, prolly wanted paid, lol. Anyway, there is a restaurant (Orizodes) at the port where we found fast speed fabulous wifi. We spent our plugged in hours there. And ate like king and queens there as well. YUM. So, there is no real tv or wifi at the villa. Um, that is OK with me - we spend too much time on electronics. My girls 9 and 11 loved being with their unplugged parents and enjoying the sea and plunge pool. Also, do the boat trip to blue caves and that over hyped ship wrecked beach. It is kind of funny how silly the shipwreck beach is - a zillion boats drop a zillion people off for a 45 minute break there. The drive and view from up top is far superior. But, you are a tourist - be one and enjoy. It's the only time you have tourist overload in this lovely island. Back to the villa - fresh veggies, fresh fruit and the local made wine. Georgios available at any time to help/assist/visit. Again, what's not to like? I think my absolute favorite part of the villa is the access to the sea. The trek down to the water is not for anyone who is not fit and steady on their feet. But, boy oh boy, once you are in the sea, kayaking or swimming - it's your own private oasis! And just go swimming (and to the port, other beaches or other sites) before 10 or after 4 to avoid the day trippers and the constant boats. One last thing - walk to the light house and wind mill - for the sun rise or the sunset. So many things to rave about I am running out of room!!!! We will be booking the larger villa next year - and inviting friends. We had the 3 br 3 bath one. For four of us. Plenty of room.

The view from all sides was panaromic, the sea beyond the infinity pool on one side and the wildlife on the other side looked like some wonderland. The property was extremely well equipped and had everything that a large family would need, and the owner Georgio was amazing and even did our pre-arrival shopping for us which is above and beyond any serice we could have hoped for. Then there was the amazing labrador Zeus who we all fell in love with, he would look after us daily and even guided us down the narrow path down the hill to the Blue Caves one of the days. We had an amazing taxi-triver Dennis who Georgio had arranged for us, and Dennis took us through the island in one day. The stay was truly amazing and unforgettable!!

We recently spent a week in the purple villa. The villa was ideal for two couples. The bedrooms were on separate floors. Both were spacious rooms with large beds and their own bathrooms. The villa was set up with everything needed for a comfortable stay. It was spotlessly clean and was serviced mid week. The location was absolutely stunning, looking out over olive trees to the sparkling blue ocean. The village was a short drive away and had numerous good restaurants and a supermarket. The villa had a covered patio where we usually ate and had evening drinks. We used the charcoal barbecue frequently to cook fresh fish we bought from the village. The charcoal was provided. We swam in the good sized pool constantly. The owner George, is a perfect host providing home made wine and fresh fruit and vegetables. Nothing is too much trouble for him. We absolutely loved the week we spent here and intend to return.

We stayed in Purple villa for a week in June and were absolutely enchanted by this place. Firstly, it's stunning: situated on the cliff above blue caves, it has the most beautiful vistas of the sea, nearby Kefalonia and even the mainland on the horizon. Secondly, it is one of the most relaxing places we've been to. Villas: Villas are superbly maintained and impeccably clean. Houses are very well laid out (we stayed in Purple villa, but had a chance to peek into the rest of them and they all up to the same standard), kitchen has every needed piece of appliance (including dishwasher). Plus, we were left with a bag of charcoals for the bbq (and can't recommend enough to use it! We just picked up some fresh fish and meat in the small village nearby). The houses are tastefully decorated, their natural stone blends into the surroundings perfectly and we felt it invited us to relax even more. Our villa felt very private and quiet and outdoor pool was a blessing (it was quite hot when we were over). Surroundings: We didn't realise Blue Caves were such a popular tourist attraction until we went down to the bottom of the cliffs via the stone footpath. View of the sea while descending the footpath is unparalleled, and the water is as blue as it gets. Swimming and diving was an absolute pleasure, as there are natural "steps" to get into the water (jumping, of course, is an alternative). There are a few kayaks available for the guests to use and we made the most of them. Sea is not rough at all, currents were very weak. Also, we were surprised to see a few boats going to the caves, because we couldn't hear a thing from the villa. Overall, we can't recommend this place enough. Not only the villas and vistas are wonderful, but so are George (and Dias). George made us feel very welcomed, had answers for all our questions and gave us some great tips on local places to eat. We much appreciated the steady supply of homemade wine and local fruit and veg. And Dias is just the friendliest, happiest and most wonderful golden retriever who was hanging out with us at the villas (and even went kayaking with us a few times). All in all, this property is 10 out of 10 (location, service, value, ambience)! And we are hoping to come back when we have a chance

Just returned from a week's stay at the Purple villa with my girlfriend's family. It is hard to describe the beauty of this location on the northern side of the island, and how much you feel so pampered in a Mamma Mia, kind of way! Our host, Mr. George, was so very kind and helpful. And Diaz, the ultimate PR Manager, disguised as a Golden Retriever, was immediately our family favorite. The amenities were fine, and it was nice to be able to have a washer at our disposal during the week. We were served wine from the Blue Cave Villas, and numerous gifts of fresh fruit and herbs showed up on our doorstep daily. Mr. George arranged for us to have a chef prepare several incredible meals for us during the week. A great recommendation if you want to enjoy a wonderful meal, AND your very own sunset on your patio overlooking the pool. The walk down the "cliffs" to the Ionian sea and the kayaks can be daunting. Surf shoes are definitely a must. But the end result is definitely worth the effort. The small town of Agios Nicholas is quaint. Has most of what you need, and a Friday night Greek Fest is great entertainment. Would also suggest taking a tour of the Blue Caves. Again, whatever your pleasure, Mr. George will make such great suggestions about what to do, and is willing to make any arrangements necessary to ensure your holiday's success. Oh yes, rent a car. But if you are like us, it takes a few days to navigate the windy, but very picturesque roads.
