Verekinthos Villa Chania is an exclusive distant private villa in Chania, warmly renewed by the owner. The deluxe interior combines original Cretan features with the latest fittings.  It’s the ideal place for those who looking for luxury, isolation and modern comforts. Is a remarkable 240sqm traditional Cretan villa with a 40sqm swimming pool. In the 1800s, the Papafilipakis family farmhouse, separated into three disembodied buildings where they used as a grape press, stable, and chicken coop.

The place burnt once in the past, but not entirely, that’s why Nikos Papafilipakis began to re-build these houses back in 2002 keeping the charm and history of the family farmhouse. Set on the cliff, past the electric gate and parking area, the varied levels offer a few outdoor entertainment areas, a large patio, terrace, barbeque area, hammock, and a uniquely shaped swimming pool. Perched above all are the villas made up still of three separate structures (main, second, and third building). One enormous villa is made up of 3 connected yet independent buildings. Each of these accommodates up to three people.

Main Building is used to be the historic home of the Papafilipakis family dating back to the 1800s. It used to function as the home in which its owners stored flour, wheat and where they made wine and tsikoudia. Today it is made up of a living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. The living room has large comfortable leather couches, a solid wood-paneled ceiling, and fine stone finishes on the interior walls. Here you will also find a fireplace with firewood, satellite TV, DVD player, radio and CD player, board games, and even a photo album which shows the stages in which Verekinthos Villa Chania was restored and rebuilt. In addition, you can take advantage of the telescope to gaze at the stars from Verekinthos Villa's spectacular location! Slightly elevated from the living room is the dining room (6-seater) which is open to the well-equipped kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, stove, oven, extractor fan, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, microwave oven, mixer, small blender, crockery, and cutlery. The functional and warmly decorated bathroom has a large bathtub with a shower curtain and washing machine. The bedroom (upstairs) has a large double bed, wooden floors, dresser, ample cupboard space, safe box, air conditioning unit, and views of the mountains from the windows.

The second building used to be the stable (for horses and cows). Today, it has been magically transformed into an independent traditional villa, with a comfy living room, bathroom, and 'ondas' bedroom. No kitchenette. The living room has a beige couch, fireplace with firewood, TV, DVD player, radio, and CD player. Steps lead from here to the 'ondas' bedroom with a double bed.

The third Building used to be the chicken house. This villa is made up of a living room that opens to the kitchenette, bathroom, and bedroom. The living room combines warm red and orange colors with stone walls and wooden ceilings. The kitchenette has two stove heads, kettle, extractor fan, coffee maker, toaster, cutlery, and crockery. Note: there is no oven/microwave. A staircase made interestingly half of stone and half of wood, leads up to the 'ondas' bedroom. The bedroom has a double bed, air conditioning, TV, a high wooden ceiling, and a window with a view to the White Mountains. Bathroom with shower. Note: Second Building and Third Building have an interconnecting door. This can remain locked for added privacy or if desired can be opened making up a larger villa.

Absolute gold, This old family home has been meticulously refurbished, and it is hidden away in a lovely valley with thick vegetation and vibrant green hues that almost feel tropical. Particularly well-designed and furnished, the bedrooms are true to the ancient stone structures while being light, romantic, eccentric, and full of personality. Beautiful lighting. The pool area is just as charming as it seems and also has a breathtaking view as its backdrop. Despite being a short distance from Chania, this house is a bit removed from the more tourist areas. The drive there is picturesque, with lush hills giving place to an almost lunar environment before opening up to the sea. Time seemed to be moving slowly, and the stars were shining brightly in the darkness.
