The estate consists of 4000m2 of arable, verdant land with 70 olive trees, 30 citrus fruit trees, a vineyard, gardens with vegetables, flowers, herbs, and a garden of banana trees which is surrounded by a special net to protect the trees from the strong wind. All the plants, as well as the fruits of the generous Cretan land, thrive here and the place feels like heaven on earth.

The residence which covers 127m2 of the property has been recently finished (2019) and it has been constructed with natural materials of the area such as stone and wood with total respect to the natural environment. Moreover, there is a pool of 40m2 with a separate heated jacuzzi of 6 people and outdoor space made of stone with sunbeds for relaxation, sitting areas, dining areas, a barbecue, and a wood stove. You can rest with your friends and your family there.

The interior of the residence includes a kitchen fully equipped with inox electrical appliances, a dining room, a living room with a fireplace and a smart TV with a keyboard, three bedrooms, and two bathrooms. There is an internet connection of high rate both in the interior and the exterior of the residence. The decoration, the furniture, the cosmetics, and the linen have been carefully chosen with respect to quality and beauty so that they meet the most sophisticated tastes. Furthermore, they point out their local identity.

Definitely an inviting place to stay

An ideal place to relax. With amazing views, close to the city and with ideals that take care of the detail to a minimum. The hostess was charming, being available all the time, she even left us a typical Greek dish in the fridge made by her mother.

Villa Enigma is set in a beautiful location, up in the hills above the town of Agios Nikolaos with great views across the bay. Very quiet (which we wanted) but within easy reach (less than 5 minutes drive) of the nearby beaches, town, shops, bars and supermarkets. The property is secured with electric gates to park your car inside the compound and the inner gardens are well landscaped around the pool area and outdoor seating area, with the outer gardens having olive trees and fruit trees surrounding the property. The kitchen is particularly well stocked with a wide variety of cooking implements, and comes with complimentary condiments, herbs, olive oil, teas, coffee, etc. The owners also provide a wonderful meal on arrival which was incredibly tasty and additional treats, plus a bottle of wine and water.

Amazing!

The whole property felt very special and we had an amazing time. The town is only a few minutes away or a short taxi ride and it is definitely worth it to have peace and quiet by the private pool.

We can’t rate this villa highly enough. Everything about it is just beautiful from the decor, the view, the grounds, the pool and the fantastic hosts. There was a home cooked meal waiting for us when we arrived which was delicious and a home cooked pastry (also delicious!) later in the week. We are a family of 5 with older teenagers and there was plenty of room. One of the double bedrooms is in a slightly separate annexe. It’s a short drive into the town which has lots of restaurants and shops. Covid wise, we felt very secure. The villa was spotlessly clean and we were really only outside other than in supermarkets (where everyone wore masks).

Eirini welcomed us very warmly (even if our flight was late and we arrived later then expected). We found the villa in best conditions and were pleased by the little „welcome package“ with some olives and pastries etc. The villa and veranda was very clean and we felt at home from the beginning. One could feel that Eirini and her husband strive to do the best for their guests. Unfortunately, we only had three nights in this gorgeous villa with the great view. Next time we would like to stay longer :-)

Eirini is an exceptional host and so very kind. It’s all the little details that stand out. From the first meeting with her to the homemade meal left for us on the first evening, the baked goods provided, the fridge essentials for our first breakfast, the fresh produce from her garden, all the various jams, spreads, honey, oil and olives to the incredible outdoor spaces, pool, views. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could possibly need to make meals and it’s all of high quality. The beds were very comfortable and all the linens high quality. Everything speaks to top customer service, comfort, and quality to enable the guest to just relax. Eirini was very accommodating to us for our check in and check out times. We were so appreciative for her support. My sister and I travel together a lot and always talk about how hosts of properties can make a big impact if they do it well. Eirini is one of the best and goes above and beyond.
