Villa Almyra is one of the state-of-the-art ornament in Elounda. Built-in the contemporaneous resort of Elounda, it's fancy spot overlooks the island of Spinalonga. Its three stone floors climb the hill, offering privacy and sumptuousness.

On the ground floor, there is a huge open plan kitchen and living area. The floor is Italian hardwood and furnishings are refined. The kitchen is glassy white and at other end, you will find the wine fridge for a glass of chilled wine. At the living room, luxurious sofas will keep you relaxed combined with the spectacular sea view. Your private infinity pool fade into the Elounda gulf, with the glass fencing letting in every inch of the landscape and Spinalonga beyond. The outside terraces full of olive and locust trees, and local plants surely will give a touch of the unique Greek scenery. The outside covered kitchen and dining area and the gas barbeque will give you glorious moments of gastronomic flavors.

Wishing to explore the small fishing village Plaka, is 5 minutes walking and Elounda is only a 10-minute drive away. Shingle beaches in front of your feet will call you to enjoy the blue crystal clear waters. Take a boat trip to Spinalonga, and flash into the heartrending and history of the island, with its fortress and the leper's colony. Visit the ruins of the ancient city of Olous, or the amazing Kolokytha beach, and then make a lunch or dinner stop at taverns, restaurants, and shops of the area to taste the famous Mediterranean cuisine. When the night comes, it will be difficult to choose out of any of the six master bedrooms all of them chic, cozy and air-conditioned. The marble ensuites with the hot tubs will offer you unique refreshing sensations before bed. The staff couldn’t have done more for us, and they even arranged an amazing chef one night whose food lasted us for days. Crete is one of my favorite Greek islands, and everyone was so friendly. I’d 100% recommend this villa!

We were a group of 10 adults and one sweet baby, and the villa was perfect — very spacious, beautifully decorated, with unbelievable views. The staff were amazing, and Andreas gave us a warm welcome and responded quickly to anything we needed. We stayed in May, and since the weather was a bit changeable, we asked to have the pool heated — which was fantastic! One of the best things about the villa is its location: just a short walk to the beach, mini market, and tavernas in the lovely town of Plaka, so no need to drive. All in all, it was an amazing vacation in an amazing villa!

The view was mesmerizing. It was a full 180 degree ocean view overlooking the ruins of Spinalonga and the village of Plaka. All the living areas and the 4 main bedrooms had gorgeous sea views. All four of main bedrooms also had balconies or patios with seating or lounge chairs. Everything was very well maintained and nicely decorated. Lots of outdoor living spaces to enjoy. There even was an elevator that went between the 3 floors which was a nice surprise. Large kitchens both indoors and outdoors. Well stocked in terms of dishes, silverware, pots and pans. The villa manager gave us a nice gift basket on arrival with snacks, waters, wine, juices, coffee, etc. But if you plan to do any cooking you will need to start with the basics including cooking oil, seasonings, etc. The Villa Manager, Andreas was wonderful and helped us for several weeks before we arrived assisting with airport transfers, offering recommendations for activities and making restaurant reservations, etc. for us. He also arranged for Giannis the Masseuse to come out for the day. It was awesome...and very inexpensive compared to what we see in the US. Speaking of wonderful and inexpensive...Andreas also arranged for a private chef for us on two of the nights. So much delicious, beautifully presented food that we had plenty of leftovers. The price even included housekeeping who cleaned up all the dishes afterwards. Speaking of housekeeping, we didn't realize that the rental included daily housekeeping which was very nice. They also wash the sheets and towels mid-way through the stay. You have access to the Washing Machine that is onsite though note that there is no dryer. We spent many afternoons at the pool. We did pay the extra fee to have the pool heated and found that to be worthwhile. There is a nice private beach area though it is a hike to get there and back up the hill. It is very rocky but they have nice lounge chairs down there and there are stairs with a railing to assist in climbing in and out of the water. The water was clear, warm and wonderful! The town of Plaka is a short walk...but it is a pretty steep hill and the weather was hot! So we usually opted to drive and found parking down there quite easy. Plaka has lots of great restaurants, bars, shops and a couple of small markets. For real groceries you need to go to Agios Nikolaos which is about 25 minutes away. The villa is one of a series of these villas on the hillside that seem to be under the same management company. Not sure how many of them are owned and/or in a rental pool. Definitely got the impression that you could rent a few of them if you have a larger party. Overall, can't say enough good things about our experience here. We loved it and hope to return some day.

The villa is amazing, beautiful view and setting. Everything clean and well kept. As we had kids we were even afraid of not breaking anything as one could see all the furniture and equipment was selected with special care. Two suggestions: to protect the seating area in front of the kitchen with more/longer sun protection and to make some molo or plateau for better entrance to the sea in the area below the villa. Otherwise everything was perfect and we recommend the villa for everybody who is looking for peaceful beach holidays, with a nice village with restaurants and shops in walking distance.

Beautiful villa in a fantastic location.

The villa was really well equipped, and they even provided nice toiletries. The housekeeping staff were great, and the local manager organized a catamaran trip and a private chef experience — both were amazing. I’d go back in a heartbeat!
